The US has 11 times as many gun homicides as 28 other comparable high-income countries combined, in spite of have less than half the combined population of these 28 countries. In 2015, 13,120 people were killed by guns in the US, compared to 1,180 for all other 28 countries combined.
The US Gun Homicide rate is 25 times higher than the 28 other comparable high-income countries combined. The US has a Gun Homicide Rate of 4.1 homicides by guns per year for every 100,000 people. 28 other high-income countries have a combined Gun Homicide Rate of 0.16 gun homicides per 100,000 people per year.
